Accommodations
- Design Hotel Jewel: 4-star boutique hotel located in the Old Town. One of my favorite hotels ever because of the warmth, the service and the bedtime stories they leave on your pillow. Check out my TripAdvisor review.
Sites/Tours
- Old Town Square: For obvious reasons, it's the heart of Prague.
- Charles Bridge: Beautiful and you can usually catch a good street band playing here. Don't overlook visiting at night, it's nice to catch the glow of the light-covered bridge and so few people nearby you can spin around with your arms flung out.
- Prague Castle: Many visitors take the route from Old Town across Charles Bridge to get to Prague Castle (unless you cheat and take the bus). There are a lot of different sights on the grounds of the castle. I'd recommend deciding which ones you want to hit ahead of time and arriving early in the morning to try and beat the crowds.
- The Jewish Quarter: There are a variety of sights in this area as well, but one of the most impactful to me was the Old Jewish Cemetery. There are layers upon layers of graves here with tombstones almost touching. Walking on the path around the tombstones, you wonder about the lives of those resting there.
- Christmas Markets: If you're visiting at the right time of year, Prague has some of the best! Just a heads-up, if you get hot chocolate, it's not like Western hot chocolate. It's a cup of "pure" melted-down chocolate, consider it a liquid meal.
Food
- Black Angel's Bar: This bar was actually recommended to me by a local waiter from another restaurant. I loved this place! Although no food here, so have dinner prior, if you appreciate the intricacies of a good cocktail, this is an absolute must. It's located underground in the heart of Old Town. Put the phone away, and enjoy the drinks ... you won't get much service underground, and no photos are allowed.
